May Your Cup Runneth Over

We all hear the phrase, "May your cup runneth over with..." in church and it's usually referring to the Holy Spirit. Of course, we all think of The Last Supper and all of that, and many party goers refer to that phrase regarding alcohol.

The gems in the cup you see above are Amethyst. The Romans would crush up Amethyst, which is purple Quartz, and add it to their wine to prevent drunkeness. The word Amethyst comes from Greek meaning not intoxicated.

Amethyst is a great support for emotional and physical issues and is very calming. It's a great stone to help fight insomnia--just put it under your pillow.
